The ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS Thirteenth Edition diagnosis/procedures codes for admissions are now supported. Changes are:
  • New codes added.
  • Superseded codes deleted.
  • Cluster coding, which requires an additional code to be included for specified codes.
Edit rules and some error codes related to hospital separation data with separation month have been updated to match the Thirteenth Edition of the ICD-10-AM/ACHI. The changes apply to:
  • Hospital to Dept (PHDB).
  • Hospital to insurers (HCP).
These data items have been updated:
  • Principal Diagnosis, Additional Diagnosis and Procedure.
  • AN-SNAP version.
  • AR-DRG version.
  • Mode of separation.
  • Provider Number of Hospital to which transferred.
  • Birth weight of infant, neonate, stillborn.
  • Front end deductible.
  • Sex.
  • Care type.

The Queensland Hospital Admitted Patient Data Collection for the 2025-26 collection period has been updated to meet Department of Health state and national reporting requirements. Admitted patient data collection has been modified to:
  • Include a diagnosis cluster identification code that maintains the link between diagnosis codes within an episode of care as the data is collected, validated, processed, and analysed.
  • Add a new permissible value to the episode of admitted patient care – standard unit code. The new value is PYGS Psychiatric Older Persons –Sub-Acute Inpatient.

The Victorian Admitted Episodes Dataset (VAED) as been modified to:

  • Include the new diagnosis cluster identifier (DCID) data element.
  • Add new admitting/discharging unit/specialty codes for early parenting centres.
  • Add a new triage score code for use on admission or transfer to a palliative care unit. The code is 999. It considers the patient's clinical status and the person and family/carer situation.
  • Add the new NDIS participant flag, to be reported by mental health care types.

WA
