Connectivity Test

Check your connectivity with MedicalDirector's servers before running an update.

About this task

Before you first run MedicalDirector Automatic Update to update your installation of Clinical or Pracsoft, or the MDref, it is advisable to conduct a connectivity test, which checks the Notification Server and MedicalDirector Automatic Update Server for connectivity and displays any issues. The Connectivity Test can be used as a troubleshooting tool, if required.

Procedure

  1. Click Start > All Programs > MedicalDirector > Automatic Update > Automatic Update > Connectivity Test.
  2. The connectivity test starts and displays results as it progresses.
  3. Click Close to exit the test.

Results

The connectivity test is complete.

What to do next

Failures encountered during the connectivity test are likely to be caused by a block on ICMP or HTTPS connections to update.hcn.com.au, HTTP connections to download.hcn.com, or connections to your server on port 8121.
