Restore the .BAK files from the Backup Utility

Restore the saved .BAK files to your new server.

Procedure

Start SQL Server Management Studio. From the Windows Start menu, select All Programs. Within the list of programs, locate Microsoft SQL Server and then locate and click SQL Server Management Studio.
In the Connect to Server window, check the following is correct then click Connect.
- Server Type: Database Engine.
- Server name: Server Name/HCNSQL07
- Authentication
In the Object Explorer screen, right-click Database > Restore.
In the Restore Database window, on the General tab, select Source.
In the Destination for Restore To Database field, type the name of the practice database.
Under Source For Restore, select From Device, then click the Ellipsis button.
Click Add, and browse to the location your database (.bak), then click OK.
In Select Backup Sets to Restore, set Restore.
Click Options.
In the Restore Options window, set Overwrite the existing database.
Click OK.

Results

The .BAK files are restored on the new server.
