Deactivate or Reactivate Patient Records
If the patient has not visited your practice for some time, you can make their patient record inactive.
An inactive patient cannot be scheduled an appointment or issued an invoice and so forth, but their historical data is retained for reporting purposes.
An inactive patient is not considered a deleted patient; inactive patient records remain available in the Bluechip database.
If you want to permanently delete a patient record, follow the same instructions for flagging it as inactive and set delete. If you want to delete patients in bulk, see Delete Multiple Patient Records.
Inactive patients are not displayed in the Open window, unless you set Inactive.
