Performing an OPV from the Patient Details Window

OPV is only available as a pre-invoice check for non-DVA MA Account Types.

To perform an OPV from the Patient details screen, complete the following steps:

From the Patient Details window, click

located at the bottom centre of the window. The Online Patient Verification window appears.

Should the patient details (patient given name, medicare card number, and patient reference number) held by Bluechip be different to those held by Medicare, you may choose to automatically update the patient record.

A patient's OPV status is displayed in their record.

  • Green = Success
  • Red = Failed
  • Amber = last OPV check was more than 30 days ago
